This ANZAC Day, we stand in remembrance as the sun rises over the ocean in Thomson Bay. Today, we commemorate all Australians who have served and continue to serve our country.

We reflect on the part that Rottnest Island played as a key defence post, and a place of rest and recovery in the aftermath of two World Wars.

Travel to Rottnest Island for a special ANZAC service like no other. With a long military history and an important role in both WWI and WWII, Rottnest is a special place to mark this important day of remembrance. 🌅

All are welcome to attend and pay their respects at a dawn service on the Thomson Bay foreshore on 25 April. You’re also invited to enjoy the sounds of the Southern Star Band, dive deeper into history with free tours of the Bickley Battery, or discover wide-ranging stories of the island at the Wadjemup Museum.

A dusk service will also be conducted on the eve of ANZAC Day, with late ferry returns to the mainland.

All roads lead to the beach on #RottnestIsland. 🏝

🌞 Heading over for the day? 🚲 The best way to see Rotto is without a doubt on two wheels. If you're up for the challenge, head out further and explore the bays on the northern side, like Parakeet, Little Armstrong and Catherine Bays. Stop off and see the fur seals frolicking at Cathedral Rocks, before heading back through the middle of the island for some stunning inland views.

🤿🐠 After refuelling at one of the many eateries in the Settlement, head to the southern part of the island for the afternoon and explore the incredible underwater playground at one of the popular snorkelling spots, like Henrietta Rocks or Little Salmon Bay. One thing for sure, there’s no shortage of fun to be had at your favourite island this long weekend! 💙
