Cycling

Snorkelling, swimming, and beach combing

Get out on the water

If you and your pals want to get out onto the water, hire a boat from Boating West and explore the magnificent ocean around Rottnest Island. You can hire boats from 4.2m to 6m, for half or a full day. Enjoy a spot of fishing or just enjoy exploring some of the secret bays and beaches of the Island like the glorious Fish Hook Bay, which is only accessible by boat.


Diving

If you are a group of diving fans, you’re in luck. Although Rottnest may be best known for its snorkelling, it’s also an absolute haven for diving too. The diversity of fish, coral species and shipwrecks in the waters around Rottnest Island make it one of the most fascinating dive sites to be found in such close proximity to a capital city. 


Fishing

Rottnest Island is an amazing place for recreational fishing thanks to the abundant marine wildlife. The seagrass meadows around Rottnest serve as a nursery for juveniles of many fish species, such as the cobbler and long-headed flathead – so bring your rod and settle in for a day of fishing with your friends and catch your supper!
